Evelyn Marie Przybilla, age 85, St. Cloud, MN, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2014 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. A prayer service will be at 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Monday. There will be no funeral service. Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Evelyn was born December 2, 1928 in Pierz, MN to Nicholas and Benigna (Langer) Przybilla. She was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Little Falls, MN. After high school Evelyn moved from her family home in Little Falls to St. Paul, MN to work as a clerk for Walgreens. She then moved to Phoenix, AZ where she was employed as a bookkeeper for a title company and from there moved to Denver, CO where she also worked as a bookkeeper for a title company. After returning to Minnesota, Evelyn worked as a clerk at the St. Cloud Hospital Pharmacy for seventeen years, from 1973 until her retirement in 1990.
For all of her life, Evelyn was a voracious reader. It was common for her to be in the process of reading several books at a time. She could be found reading the history of Russian Czars one hour and then deep into a fictional mystery novel the next. Evelyn loved her siblings and enjoyed long talks with them about everything from world events to local issues, when the opportunity presented itself. Her favorite topic was to learn about the things that others were involved with or excited about. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and enjoyed time with her granddaughters and her family immensely.
Survivors include son, Mark (LuAnn) Schroll of Oconomowoc, WI; granddaughters, Katelyn Ann and Jennifer Marie Schroll of Oconomowoc, WI; brothers and sister, Art (Ann) Przybilla of St. Joseph, MN; Norm (Bette) Przybilla of Fargo, ND; Mary (Larry) Lahr of St. Cloud, MN; sister-in-law, Gwen Przybilla of St. Cloud, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Martin Poster, brothers, Urban "Bill" Przybilla and his wife, Bonnie, and Claude Przybilla; and sisters, Dorothy Schackman and her husband Jim, and Naomi Martins and her husband, Roger.
Memorials are preferred to Great River Regional Library -Al Ringsmuth Library, Waite Park, MN.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staffs of Park Gardens, St. Cloud Hospital and St Benedict’s Senior Community for the exceptional love and care they provided mom.
