     Darlene Neta Barrett, age 89, St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     Darlene was born December 10, 1925 in Perry, IA to Norman and Drusilla (Miller) Ornce. She graduated from high school at the age of 16 and received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Drake University on June 3,1946. While at Drake University she was initiated on March 7, 1943 into the Alpha Iota Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity. On June 1, 1946 Darlene was united in marriage to Roger Lee Barrett in Perry, IA. She taught music for one year before committing to raising her four children.
     Darlene was a member of PEO, and a former member of First United Methodist Church. She loved music and in her younger years sang with the St. Cloud Municipal Band.
     Survivors include children, Gary (Brenda) Barrett of St. Joseph, MN; Nancy (Dale) Zenner of Sartell, MN; Vicky (Craig) Groethe of St. Cloud, MN; and Barbara (Jeff) Schoenleben of St. Cloud, MN; ten grandchildren, Dayna (Jason) White, Jessica Zenner Cleveland, Carey (Amanda) Groethe, Derek (Heather) Zenner, Micah (Jeanine) Barrett, Brittany (Dallas) Horne, Christine (Kaliber) Olson, Paul Groethe, Jacob (Brianna) Schoenleben, and Jordan (Morgan) Barrett; thirteen great grandchildren, Gage, Frank, Will, MaKenna, Dilynn, Roger, Harper, Kopelyn, Isaiah, Tatum, Madelynn, Bennett and Kaldonia, and one due in May.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger on March 20, 1995 and her parents.
     Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
