     Dorothy E. Schmidt, 95, St. Cloud, MN, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell, MN.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Osakis, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Dorothy was born February 7, 1920 in Mooreton, ND to Albert and Alphonsine (Spitz) Fritz. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School. Dorothy married Ervin A. Schmidt on February 27, 1941 in St. Cloud, MN. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Dorothy was an avid card player and bowled for many years. She also enjoyed crafts, quilting and spending time with family at Lake Osakis.
     Survivors include sons and daughters, Lloyd (Connie) Schmidt of Osakis, MN; Larry (Judy) Schmidt of Tobaccoville, NC; Fred (Debi) Schmidt of St. Cloud, MN; Jon (Shirley) Schmidt of St. Cloud, MN; Rick (Judy) Schmidt of Edgerton, WI; Kate Pettit of Bloomington, MN; Ruth (Rob) Hary of Bloomington, MN; Donna (Bob) Langerak of Crosslake, MN; Cyndi Schmidt of Mendota Heights, MN; brother, Richard Fritz of Waite Park, MN; sister, Margaret Thelen of Wheaton, MN; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ervin on January 10, 2001, son-in-law, Lynn Pettit, two grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, and two infant brothers.
     Memorials are preferred.
