     Donald Milton Olson, age 92, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Good Shepherd Senior Community, Sauk Rapids, MN.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Senior Community Chapel, Sauk Rapids MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday. Burial will be in Benton County Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Donald was born April 3, 1923 in St. Cloud, MN to Walter and Myrtle (Woll) Olson. He joined and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, Company #2703 of Park Rapids, MN. On January 31, 1942 Donald was united in marriage to Loretta V. Rupp in St. Cloud, MN. Donald was employed by St. Cloud Iron Works as a welder. He later worked as a sheet metal worker for McDowall Company for over 30 years. Donald was a member of the Sheet Metal Union and a former member of Hope Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling, camping-particularly to Itasca State park, fishing, swimming, and bowling. Don’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.
     Survivors include his wife, Loretta Olson of Sauk Rapids, MN; son,, Donald E. (Germaine “Geri”) Olson of Andover, MN; daughters, Carol J. (George) Varner of Sauk Rapids, MN; Judie A. Bukovich of Sartell, MN; Nancy L. (Daniel) Christman of Foley, MN; son-in-law, David Carlson of Ogden, IA; half brother, David Smith of Farmington, MN; half sisters, Elaine E. LaClaire of New Hope, MN; Marion E. Henry of Littleton, CO; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Debbie Carlson, granddaughter, Lynda Jensen, sons-in-law, Allen Schreifels and Eli Bukovich, brother, Kermit Olson, and half brothers, John Kaeter and Meril Smith.
