Gladys M. Meister, age 83, Waite Park, MN died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in Lorenz Cemetery, St. Joseph Township, Stearns County, Minnesota.
Gladys was born May 19, 1932 in Rockville Township, Stearns County, MN to Russell W. and Florence M. (Milz) Lorenz. She graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School and St. Cloud Teachers College. Gladys married Nicholas R. Meister on June 9, 1956 in St. Cloud, MN. She taught Elementary School for several years in various cities. Gladys was a wonderful cook, set a beautiful table, and had beautiful flower and tasty vegetable gardens. She loved to travel, go shelling and make crafts out of them to sell at craft fairs. She also loved to paint ceramic elves and animals for the yard and gardens. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of St. Cloud region.
Survivors include grandson, Tony (Jai) Meister of St. Cloud, MN; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister and brother, Marjorie (James) Hartmann of Paynesville, MN and Donald (Evelyn) Lorenz of St. Cloud, MN, sister-in-law, Gert Kieft of Buffalo, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nicholas on December 22, 2003, one brother, John Raymond Lorenz and one sister, Jean Lorenz Bade.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff of Sterling Park Health Care Center, Waite Park for the care that they provided Gladys.
