    St. Cloud
    October 30, 1950 - August 25, 2015

Dori is at peace and secure in the loving care of King Jesus. Dori passed to eternal life quietly on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 after a 13 year struggle with Alzheimer's.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Calvary Community Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Calvary Community Church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN at a later date. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Dori was the daughter of Melvin and Dorothy (Hanson) Beissler. She was carefully and lovingly raised in a family of seven children. She dearly loved her family, friends and most of all her Savior Jesus Christ. Dori married her high school sweetheart and loving husband, Kenneth Valley on June 24, 1972. She graduated from Johnson High School, received a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and taught Special Education for some years in the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District. Dori decided to be a stay at home mom for their two children, Andrew now 36 and Carolyn now 33.
Dori loved helping people and serving the Lord. She was a member of Calvary Community Church. Dori taught Sunday School, was the director of the Awana Sparks program, lead a Mom’s In Touch group, organized her house to host the Calvary Senior High midweek youth group meeting, was a leader for teen mission trips and taught one year for Cherub Day Nursery.
Dori spent many weeks traveling with her family. She loved fishing, a sport introduced to her by her dad. Dori’s smile and gentle manner would put people and acquaintenances at ease. She always had a kind word for others.
Dori is preceded in death by her mom Dorothy, dad Melvin, and oldest brother Darryl. She is survived by her sisters, Jeani (Randy) Swenson Cook, MN, Deanna (Delroy) Carlson of N. St. Paul, brothers, Wayne (Debbie) Beissler of Shoreview, Ken (Marlys) Beissler of White Bear Lake, William (Colleen Bailey) Beissler of Vadnis Heights, sister-in-law Judy (Leo) Samuelson, husband Kenneth Valley of St. Cloud, son Andrew Valley of St. Paul, daughter Carolyn (Eric) Thompson of St. Paul, grandchildren, Abigail Hodnefield (Brian and Pamela) and Gemma Thompson.
A special thank you to the staff of the Wellstead of Rogers, her many friends and church family.
