     James J. Moline, age 82, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, February 20, 2016 from complications related to cancer at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
     Funeral services will be Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Friday at the Church. Burial with full military honors will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Jim was born August 22, 1933 in St. Cloud, MN to Carl and Hattie (Kiklas) Moline. He attended St. Anthony's School and graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School. At age17 Jim volunteered for duty in the Korean War as a medic serving in reconnaissance and field artillery units. After his tour in Korea he served in a military hospital in Japan before returning back to his hometown of St. Cloud. Jim married Elaine Rymer in 1960 and later divorced. He joined the St. Cloud Police Department in 1957 as a patrol officer, serving over 39 years. He attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Jim attained the rank of Assistant Chief of Police and also served as the interim Chief of Police.
     Jim loved his family and enjoyed following his grandchildren's many endeavors. He was an avid reader, collecting books all of his life. His sense of humor was always unconventional, but was fueled by both his life and love of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
     Jim is survived by sons, Michael of Sartell, MN; Mark (Jill) of Sauk Rapids, MN; and Matthew of Chaska, MN; three grandchildren, Steven, Elizabeth and Erik; sisters, Lorraine (Gene) Skelton of St. Cloud, MN; and Shirley Dominic of St. Cloud, MN; and brother, Larry (Mary) Moline of St. Cloud, MN.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl Jr. “Dan” and Bill.
     Memorials are preferred to either Coborn's Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
