Marcella M. Putney, age 91, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral Lower Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements are being made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Marcey was born July 9, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN to John D. and Julia (Moran) McGuire. She married William H. Putney on December 19, 1945 in Mason City, IA. Marcey was employed at Sampson Shoe Store and Fandel’s Department Store. She was a member St. Anne’s Christian Women, RSVP, St. Cloud Hospital Auxiliary, life member of VFW Auxiliary 4847, Legion of Mary and was a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and then St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Survivors include daughters, Anita Meyer of Ramsey, MN; Dolores Styrlund of Champlin, MN; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald McGuire of New Brighton, MN and sister, Patricia Belanger of Rogers, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William on May 19, 1996, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
