    MARIE C. NUNN, 96
    St. Cloud
    June 20, 1919 - March 20, 2016

Marie Carlsen Nunn, age 96, St. Cloud, MN, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Kristen Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Marie was born June 20, 1919 in Sabine, TX to Gustav T. and Annie S. (Jacobsen) Carlsen. She was employed as a librarian at St. Cloud State University and Christ Church Newman Center from 1965 to 1999. Marie was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, PEO Chapter DT, several bridge groups, Tuesday Morning Breakfast Group and St. Cloud State University Faculty Wives.
Marie will be truly missed for her infectious smile, love of people, yearning to learn and remember names, and for all the food she prepared and shared with others over the years. Food equaled love in her mind, and there was never a shortage of it. She also enjoyed pretty clothes and always looked nice. Marie was definitely a “Southern Bell” and showed genuine southern hospitality to everyone she met.
Marie also played a “mean” game of dominoes, and could still beat us even at the age of 96. Further, she was not shy about letting us know it! Recently, she had a small slam in Bridge as well. Marie remained sharp and smart all the way to her recent passing.
Being a devout Christian, Marie read her Bible every night and did devotions faithfully. She loved her girls and their husbands and bragged continually about them. Until we see her again, Marie will be greatly missed.
Survivors include daughters, Louise (Wayne) Lenzmeier of Waite Park, MN; Anne (David) Gran of Alexandria, MN; and Rebecca (Tim) Tasto of St. Cloud, MN; son-in-law, Bill Ploth of Gladstone, MO; five grandsons and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Nell Ploth, three brothers and one sister.
Memorials are preferred to Salem Lutheran Church, PEO Chapter DT Continuing Education, Salvation Army or donor’s choice.
     Pallbearers will be her family.
