Marcus “Mark” Truman Haug Jr., age 84, St. Cloud, MN, died peacefully Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the columbarium at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Mark was born December 7, 1931 in Clear Lake, MN to Marcus T. and Sadie B. (Reed) Haug, Sr. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School and was drafted into the United States Army shortly after his graduation from St. Cloud State University. After serving in Guam and the Philippines he returned home to Minnesota and taught in Grand Marais, Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud Technical High School. Mark married Lorenda Wenstrom on October 14, 1953, she died on April 27, 1962. On July 11, 1964 he was united in marriage to Geraldine Throlson. After retiring from teaching, Mark was employed by Menards and volunteered his computer skills at Prince of Peace School. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Haug of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughters, Marcus T. (Linda) Haug III of Copley, OH; Lorenda (Brad) Ingersoll of Duluth, MN; Gayle Haug of San Diego, CA; Michael (Beata) Haug of Eau Claire, WI; Kari Haug of St. Cloud, MN; sisters, Lorraine Hanson of Moose Lake, MN: Connie (Alvin) Henry of Foley, MN; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Lorenda Wenstrom Haug, brother Arnold Haug and sister Jean Butler.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Mark’s name may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
