She graduated from Willmar High School, attended North Park College and completed training as an X-Ray Technologist at St. Barnabus Hospital, Minneapolis, MN. Maggie was united in marriage to Larry Hanson on May 7, 1966, at First Covenant Church, Willmar, MN.
Maggie was employed as an X-Ray Technologist until her first child was born. She continued as a full-time stay at home mother until her children were in college. Maggie then returned to work in retailing at Dayton’s/Marshall Fields until retiring in 2000 to spend time with and care for her grandchildren. In her work at Dayton’s she helped scores of women find the right dress for special occasions and was recognized as Dayton’s Finest in 1997.
Living her faith, Maggie was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church where she volunteered as Youth Leader, congregation Vice President and communion assistant. She also volunteered with Helps International participating in 6 mission trips to Guatemala.
