    Ronald L. Haxby
    February 28, 1934 – May 7, 2021

Ron was born in St. Cloud, MN. He earned his Mining Engineering Degree from the University of Minnesota. Ron met his wife Holle at a Minneapolis Hospital where she was a nurse. They married and moved to Morenci, AZ where he worked at the Copper Mine and received his Master’s Degree from the University of Arizona.
Ron and Holle settled in Lakewood, Colorado in 1968 with a short time in Alaska and Wyoming. They had 4 children. In 1974, a niece and nephew came to live with them. In total, he raised 6 children. Ron has 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
He is survived by Kathy Butler (Dean), Heidi Wright, Joe Haxby (Joy), Barbara Haxby Glazier (Tim), Fern Sherwood and Bobby Sherwood. The grandchildren are Elizabeth Beard, Lindsey Wright, Jamie Haxby, Kimberly Hill (Eric), Stephanie Butler, Jonathan Jet Underwood, Jessica Underwood and great grandson Aiden Chamberlain.
He loved to fish, ski, hike, go dancing and take walks. Ron taught many children to fish off his dock at his Lakewood, Colorado home. He traveled the world while in the mining business and at one time won an award for logging the most air miles. The award stated that the air miles that he logged would circle the earth 3 times. Ron will be remembered for being a great father, who told many great stories of his travels, and being a wonderful grandfather to all. He will be greatly missed, but we know he is now dancing and fishing to his heart’s content.
Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
