Kevin J. Allen,   Age 55
Funeral Time: 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 13, 2021
Funeral Location: Becker Christian Center, 15469 59th Street, Becker, MN 55308

Kevin Jon Allen was born on September 23, 1966 in Rochester, Minnesota. On Monday, November 8th, 2021 Kevin went home to be with Jesus. Kevin Jon was born to Floyd Ray Allen Jr and Ruth Elaine (Doebbeling) and lived most of his childhood years in St Paul, Minnesota.

Kevin will be dearly missed by his family, including his wife Jody Kay (Hanson) Allen of 34 years. He is also survived by his children, Kendra (Dennis) Angell, Jaden (Rhiannon) Allen, Kurtis Allen, Jenna Allen, Kaleb Allen, and Judson Allen. His four grandchildren, Ezra (4), Micah (3), Margaret(1), and Baby Grace brought much joy into his life.

Over the course of his life, Kevin embraced an entrepreneurial spirit and successfully ran many different businesses. As a craftsman and artist, he will best be remembered for his custom woodworking. The local Minnesota area is filled with his custom staircases, furniture, and railings that will be cherished memories. Construction work brought him to Tennessee in 2008 and soon the entire family made the move south.

Kevin and his family were an integral part of the Gallatin, Tennessee community. The Allen family quickly jumped into Southside Baptist Church, establishing deep roots in that family of God. The entire family opened 3 Day Thrift, across from the church, not only as a way to provide for their family but as an outreach in their community. In the past year and a half Kevin worked as an expedited van driver putting on almost 200,000 miles making deliveries all across the United States. While he enjoyed the travel, he missed his family time and in September 2021, Kevin began a new job with 3M. The entire family was embracing this new adventure of life in New Ulm, Minnesota.

If you knew Kevin, then you know one of his favorite hobbies was fishing. He had opportunities to fish from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico and many places in between. He was content to sit for hours waiting for the “big bite” and take in the beauty of God’s creation. He also loved sitting around the table, sharing a meal with family and friends. This was his comfort zone and this quiet man, who usually hid in the shadows, would start telling stories about his many adventures in life. But most of all, we will remember him for his love of Jesus. He loved to spend time reading his Bible, listening to sermons, and discussing what God was teaching him. Kevin often remarked that “when it’s my time to go, it’s my time to go.” He truly believed Job 14:5: “You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.” We take comfort in God’s promises and know that Kevin’s legacy of faith will live on.
