    Donald R. Lorenz, age 92, of Rockville, MN died peacefully with his family at his side on April 18, 2022 at Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring, MN.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Sartell, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lorenz Cemetery, St. Joseph Township, Stearns County, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. The service will be livestreamed on the First United Methodist Church website.
    Don Lorenz was born May 3, 1929 on the family farm in Rockville Township to Florence (Milz) and Russell Lorenz. He graduated from Technical High School. Don married Evelyn Stapf in Farmington, MN on August 27, 1949. He worked for Franklin Manufacturing for over 40 years. During that time, he also ran the family farm. Don was a hardworking man, but always took time for a visit, a piece of pie or a game of cribbage. In their many travels, Don and Evelyn made numerous lifelong friends.
    Don is survived by his wife of 72 years, Evelyn; children, Larry (Mary Jo), Ron (Jan); granddaughter, Melanie (Frank) Froehle; great granddaughters, Brooke and Danielle Froehle; sister Marjorie Hartmann; and “chosen children” Jim and Karen Meinz and their children Rachael, Peter and Susan.
    Don was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jean Bade, Gladys Meister and John Raymond Lorenz.
